Chairman Emeritus and Founding Partner
Don co-founded ABS Capital in 1990 and currently serves as the chairman emeritus. Since the start, he has set the tone for the firm’s approach to investing and collaborating with smart growth companies. With deep experience across multiple sectors, Don continues to serve as an important adviser to the firm. Previously, Don spent over 20 years with Alex. Brown & Sons, rising to president and CEO. He was the principal architect of Alex. Brown and Sons’ innovative industry-specific investment banking units, launching the firm’s healthcare, technology, and media and communications investing groups. The firm focused on financing growth companies, several of which are leaders in their industries today — Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, and Stryker, to name a few.
Don works in ABS’s Baltimore office. In his spare time, Don likes to read (non-fiction), play golf (plenty of fiction), and swim.
