John is a Managing General Partner at ABS Capital Partners. His investment interests and experience include healthcare information technology and healthcare services companies.
He currently represents ABS Capital on the boards of Avalere Health, Cbr Systems, Inc., Source Medical Solutions, Inc. and Superior Vision Services, Inc.
He previously has served on the boards of American Esoteric Laboratories, Inc., Omnicell, Inc. and US Pathology Labs, Inc.
Background
Since joining ABS Capital in 1993, John has been involved in over 20 portfolio company investments for the firm. He has gained significant domain expertise in the healthcare industry—investing in the space through periods of dramatic change and regulatory shifts. John has been able to effectively leverage his understanding of the healthcare sector to help his companies to recruit relevant board members and executives, hone their business models, think about their competitive landscape and ultimately position themselves for an exit.
Prior to joining ABS Capital, John worked in Alex. Brown's Health Care Investment Banking Group where he advised clients on public offerings and M&A strategies.

John is married with three children. He enjoys doing triathlons –completing the swim from Alcatraz three times. He is a Trustee of Marin Primary and Middle School in the San Francisco Bay area.
