While ABS Capital searches for the best growth companies all over the country, we are committed to the communities in which we live and work.
In 2016, we joined other Baltimore companies as part of the BLocal initiative, which harnesses our collective influence to strengthen the city and its people. BLocal companies have committed to invest in renovation and construction projects, increase purchases of goods and services from local women and minority-owned businesses, provide paid summer internships for the city’s youth, and increase hiring from the city’s most distressed areas.
Below are ABS Capital’s commitments to the initiative. To read more about BLocal, click here.
- Hire one youth intern to work at ABS Capital this summer and sponsor another to work at an area non-profit
- Partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters to participate in their Beyond School Walls program, where we will mentor 12 Baltimore City middle school students during the next school year
- Maintain and increase our local spending
- Encourage our service providers to join the BLocal initiative
